I use Goodreads to document the books I listen to or read! You can follow other people and see what they are reading, shelve books for later, etc. I’ve used it for a few years and it has prevented me from re-reading books that were “meh” (and you remember you read it halfway thru).
One way I keep up with podcasts is to have them in a separate app. While Spotify does have all the podcasts I listen to, I tend to get overwhelmed with all the options on what I can listen to in the Spotify app. For me, podcasts are solely listened to on the Overcast App. I'm very much a mood reader/listener. If I'm in the mood for a podcast I go directly to the Overcast App where I created custom playlists based on my listening moods. New episodes are always downloaded and ready to go without the noise of the algorithm.

Thank you! I have an account -- this is motivating me to actually use it.

Ah! I've never thought to use a separate podcast app. Thank you!
