Community-Sourced Tights Guide
Because I'll lose it if I buy one more pair that runs the first time I wear them......
I knew I liked dresses, but I didn’t realize how much they monopolized my wardrobe until it got cold and I suddenly had nothing to wear. Tights? Nowhere to be found. So, doing what I do, I grabbed a few pairs on Amazon. I wore them exactly one time before they snagged.
I asked our community for recommendations, and 100+ came in. Here are the top four recommendations:

Sheertex tights were the most frequently recommended brand in the community by a wide margin. Sheertex tights are known for their durability and resistance to runs. They’re more of an upfront investment, but our community swears they’re worth it (especially when on sale!)
Wolford is a luxury favorite with a loyal following. Wolford was repeatedly praised for quality, with specific callouts to higher-denier options. The main consensus: keep your eye out for a sale and stock up!
Hue came up as a dependable, no-frills option for everyday tights. Several women mentioned their opaque black styles in particular, noting that they’re easy to find, reasonably priced, and get the job done without fuss. I ordered a pair of Hue tights for our firm holiday party, so I’ll keep y’all posted.
Spanx was a top favorite, but with a caveat. Many noted that while Spanx tights are durable, they aren’t the most comfortable for all-day wear. However, with a bit of built-in tummy support, they’re a solid option if you like a more supportive feel.
What I love most about community crowdsourcing is how clear the patterns are once enough of us weigh in. Different needs, different budgets, but a strong consensus on what actually works.
If you’ve found a pair that didn’t make this list (or if your loyalty runs deep to one of these), I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

I snagged (hehe) a pair of Sheertex on sale and can confirm they work. Another brand I have an eye out for is Noosh for a fleece lined pair but I have not tried.
